Regaining YourFooting

Who can you trust to tell you the truth?  In this world of multi-media outlets via radio, TV, Internet, print, and word of mouth, there are so many competing for your attention, your eyes, and ears.  All are trying to get a message across; and if I’m totally honest so am I.

I initially want this post to be totally about whom we listen to for the truth and from whom can we expect to get it.  I realize that there are two sides to every story; I have further discovered that the most that one can hope to get from either side is 50%, but with our individual filters, communication barriers, and let’s not forget about our personal motives information that paints us in the best possible light, I have concluded that getting the total 50% from one side or the other is almost impossible.

We desire the truth because I believe the truth stabilizes us; gives us sure footing with which to stand on mentally and morally.  We are lied to so much and on a daily basis, it’s hard to figure out who to trust to tell the truth.

I’ve recently returned from deployment; regaining my footing of being back on American soil, re-inserting myself back into my role as Husband, Father, Son, and Brother is not without its challenges.  I’ve taken comfort in know the truth of that I’m loved within each role.

Finding a solid foundation to pin your character and integrity has become challenging to say the least.  In a world where everything goes and all claiming that their truth is the Truth can be confusing.  My foundation has become the Bible and its teachings.  This stabilizes me in whatever role or hat I’m wearing that day; Soldier, Friend, Acquaintance, or Mentor I need an authority by which to govern my life.

This keeps me safe and secure in knowing that I’m obeying the law; God’s law as well as the law of the land.  The Word of God gives me comfort, direction, guidance, hope, and encouragement.  It provides me with the wear-with-all for life.  Allow it to speak to your heart and do the same for you.  With man some things are impossible, but with God all things are possible.

This has been your 80 Seconds of encouragement.
