Down not Out

Let’s face it we’ve been down before and before we leave this life, it’s very possible that we will be knocked down again.  This comes as no surprise; I’ve accepted it that it’s a part of life.  From the very beginning of our lives, we’ve been getting back up.  From a baby, trying to learn to walk, the first, second, third, or fourth attempts at trying to walk, we didn’t get it right, but that never stopped us.  Even if falling scared us for a minute or two, we continued to try to get up.

Life is very similar; getting up is just something we do.  Understand, to remain down does not come natural for us; it’s not natural to us.  It’s written in our DNA to move from there, go to a better state, to reach for a better lot in life.  To repeat a phrase, “It’s a hard knock life for us”, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t fight back.

The struggle is real; survival is real; and so is purpose.  Your purpose for existing is a very powerful motivator and an extremely powerful force to be reckoned with.  Once a person finds their purpose in life, although there will be the setbacks and disappointments, purpose gives the meaning for getting up again and redoubling of one’s efforts.

Life will undoubtedly throw you a curve ball.  You may have two strikes already with the game in the bottom of the ninth inning and the pressure may be on.  You can swing for the fences; line one into left field, or even bunt.  The point being, you still have choices.

With man, things may seem impossible; they may even be impossible. But with God all things are possible.  Where you’re going, you may be pioneering a trail.  When you get to an obstacle, there may not be a door; God is able to make a door where there was no door.  Not to sound too preachy, He’s able to make a way out of no-way.

So what is your reason for getting back up?  It’s a forgone conclusion that you will get knocked down, but you must get back up, get back on that horse and ride;  reasons for getting up are, I must earn a living to support my family or it’s what’s expected of me, or I love my family too much to fail, or even the fear of failure itself.

You can achieve, you can succeed.  It’s an act of you will; an inner decision from the depths of your soul that motivates you to run through troops and leap over walls doing exploits in such a manner that astounds those around you.  Whatever the case the ball is in your court and it’s your decision.  I believe in you and know that you will make the right choice.

This has been your 80 seconds of encouragement.
