Life is Worth Living

I had resolved within myself not to write on Saturday or Sunday, but felt a need to make an exception.  In light of recent events, I just had to get this out; you never know who may be touched by your words, care, or concern.

From my Tims2Centz Instagram account, I read where a young fashion blogger committed suicide.  I was amazed at how beautiful she was, but especially how young; mid 20s.  The caption read, my paraphrase, “You never know how someone may be feeling, even though their social media picture may shows them smiling.

An incident somewhat closer to home; an individual that was on the previous team that I served with, shortly after returning home from deployment, committed suicide.  It’s amazing how high the statistics are with suicide; even more so when you break it down by individual groups, simply staggering.

I know that life can be tough; I know that emotional pain is real, I also know that whatever is going on-going wrong, is not worth taking one’s life.  Depression is a very real thing; in many cultures, taboo.  It’s not really talked about, or is it accepted as valid when broached in conversation.  My prayer is that this conundrum will change.

We are losing too many good people to suicide.  There are so many agencies that would love to provide assistance in such cases.  I know this may sound like clichés, but you are loved; someone does care for you; you are worth it; you do matter; and God does NOT make mistakes.

I've heard it said, "Suicide is permanent solution to a temporary problem"; I believe that's true.  If this is you, please know that the sun will come up tomorrow; you will find a better solution to the problem. The problem-"It came to pass"; you can get past this.  Talk to family, talk to a friend, talk to God; use all avenues, there are so many available.

If you see or know of someone that doesn't seem like themselves, please take a minute to inquire; you just may save someone’s life.  Life is a precious gift from God and no one should have to right to end it.

So have a great weekend and encourage someone, even if it's yourself.  Share this with someone and let them know that they are loved and that life is definitely worth living.

This has been a Special Edition of your 80 seconds of encouragement.
