One of the gravest fears in life is death. As humans, inherently and instinctively, we
realize how precious life is. Within our
humanity is a desire for survival. Not only do we want to survive, but we
want to experience the best that life has to offer. We work hard for the things that we
want. To enjoy life to its fullest: the
love, joy, peace, and tranquility are not just punch lines; these are thing
that we strive for.
However, we all too well
realize that we live in the real world.
There will be some not so good days, but we do believe that
if we work hard, plan, and prepare for the future that we can experience some bliss right here on earth.
I think that we get caught up fearing death in such a manner
that it paralyzes us. Just imagine
living life free from the sting of death.
With this freedom one could tap into unrealized potential; fulfill
purpose for which they were created.
Living with only this life in mind, causes us to hang onto
life tighter than is designed. It causes
self-centeredness and selfishness as it pertains to our own mortality; only
concerned about the here and now without reaching past our personal circle;
unconcerned about humanity.
I’m not saying the opposite should be true where we feel
that our liberty is to be taken to the extreme.
There should be a “Balance” to everything we do; from eating,
exercising, entertainment, spirituality, to rest, relaxation, and sleep. Our bodies are a temple; we have sole
responsibility for it. The
responsibility for what goes in it, what comes out of it, and what’s done with
it; good or bad, it’s an individual decision.
Jesus said that He has come that we might have life and not
just a mundane life; He wants us to have life more abundantly. I believe that He wants us to enjoy life and
not get stuck in a rut of wake up, eat, go to work, go to church, go home, and
go to sleep. That is a part of it,
however, I believe that Christ wants us to be entertained, travel the world,
and see the magnitude of beauty that He created.
Going to New York, Paris, London, Rome, Tokyo, Hong Kong
should not be a lofty notion, it should be a dream that provisions are being made for,
planned for, and then executed; dreams to reality. My wife has a mantra; “Living and Loving
Unapologetically”, she wouldn’t mind if you adopted it.
We do what we want to do; we make time for what we want to
make time for. Dreams to reality require
action. So I encourage you, live life
well; no regrets.
This has been your 80 seconds of encouragement.
