Sight, Vision, & Dreams

Determining one’s purpose in life can sometimes be difficult.  We make decisions in life to get us from one lot in life to the next.  Some meander along just simply surviving, but never actualizing a reason or purpose for living.

To get somewhere in life, you first must decide where you want to go; what it is that you want to accomplish.  If you don’t know where you’re going, any direction will do, however you’ll never know when you get there.

This aimless meandering about never yields any sense of accomplishment.  The destination that you decide on comes from within; you determining what you were born to do, then doing it gives meaning to life.  It is at this point when work ceases to be work; you will be paid for something that you love to do.

After you’ve determined your destination or vision, you must come to the realization or see where you are.  This gives you a baseline from which to start.  It also puts you in touch with reality.  Dreams are possible, but there has to be a starting point.  You must know what it is that you are working with.  This calls into question of the resources that are required to start, sustain, and finish.  The type of resources required will vary based on the dream or destination.

Putting the two together-Sight and Vision, gives you the starting and ending point of your journey.  Although you have determined the starting point, the resources, and the destination, you are required to fill in the middle; the stuff that will get you from the beginning to the end.  You have to provide the will, the leadership, influence, skill, and balance for all phases.  Each trait will bring something different to the journey which will be needed to move forward.

You determine your destiny in life.  It’s your choice; you get out of life what you want.  If it’s not what you want it to be, then muster up the courage to do something about it.  Take the time to determine what you want and then do it.  You must use wisdom-as an adult you may have certain responsibilities that must be attended to.  If this is still something that you want, then go for it with all your heart.  Plan it out and then work it out.

Please understand, this is not going to be as easy as it sounds. Zig Ziglar said, “I didn’t say it was going to be easy, but it is going to be worth it”.  The work comes first and then you enjoy the fruit.  You got this, now go get it.

This has been your 80 seconds of encouragement.
