Miracles and Blessings

The double intent of today’s topic is purposeful in that the now is a gift from God.  It is such a blessing to be alive.  Things may not be as we’d like, but they are not as bad as they could be.  Since we’re breathing, why not with the next breath, thank God for the life that you now enjoy.

Life should never be taken for granted.  I don’t believe we do it consciously, but by our actions, sometimes it appears as though we think we're entitled.  We don’t give a second thought to waking up this morning and things are as they were when we went to sleep.

Walter and Lynette Hawkins wrote and sang a song called “Be Grateful”.  One of the lines in the song says, “Someone out there is worse off than you, be grateful – Someone out there would love to be in your shoes, be grateful.”  We live in the greatest country in the world; one filled with many opportunities and chances for success.  It's a personal choice as to our attitude about our plight in life, but it’s also our decision whether or not to remain where we are.

God has given us the miracle of today – a gift and that is a blessing.  How will you unwrap it, how will it unfold, how will you use this gift?  Will you use your God-given talents to better yourself, your family, your church, your workplace, or your community?  The ball is in your court; we have been created with talents, gifts, and a purpose to fulfill.  Use your time wisely, because time is one of the things that you cannot replace once it’s gone.

Seize the day; you are a go getter, so go get it.  The only thing that holds us back is our excuses.  No one or no-thing can stop you but you.  Allow yourself to dream, allow yourself to go beyond yourself; to push past your apprehensions and go for it.  Plan it out then work it out; plan your work then work your plan.  You got this, now go to it.

This has been your 80 seconds of encouragement.
